Caribbean Experience

Caribbean Experience | Florida Steel Drum

Floyd T. Lewis started playing in 1975 on an island in the West Indies called Grenada. Migrated to the U.S. and settled in Brooklyn New York in 1977. Heavily influenced by the Reggae revolution with Bob Marley, he continued learning and playing guitar for several years through High School. In the first year of college he started playing Pop Rock and R&B with a local band. Through the years, he eventually migrated to Heavy/Speed Metal (ala Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Slash of Guns-N-Roses). Moved to Florida in 1994 and joined Reggae band and fell in love with playing the steel drum. Coming full circle to the beginning of his journey into the fusion of all his musical influences. With his experiences and all the people he has come in contact with throughout the years he created the Caribbean Experience Band. This is a concept that fuses American favorite songs with a Caribbean twist.

My belief is that music should be felt and not just heard.
